Company Profile:

Mumbai Port has long been the principal gateway to India and has played a pivotal role in the development of the national economy, trade & commerce and prosperity of Mumbai city in particular. The port has achieved this position through continuous endeavor to serve the changing needs of maritime trade. Though traditionally designed to handle general cargo, over the years, the port has adapted to changing shipping trends and cargo packaging from break bulk to unitisation/palletisation and containerisation. Besides, it has also developed specialised berths for handling POL and chemicals. For decades, Mumbai Port was India’s premier port. Even today, with the development of other ports, it caters to 10% of the country’s sea-borne trade handled by Major Ports of the country in terms of volume. It caters about 19% of POL Traffic handled by Major Ports.

Job Responsibilities:

i. Examining the projects connected with infrastructure facilities to be developed with the Master Plan and its design, tender and implementation and liaising with the statutory organisation.
ii. Understand and advise on the present projects and future projects of the port.
iii. Co-ordinate with Consultants in preparation of Feasibility Reports and Detail Project Reports for the projects.
iv. Advise the Port in cases of review of the projects.
v. Co-ordinate with the Consultants for preparation of RFP and RFQ.
vi. Advise the Port on the Contractual issues.
vii. Co-ordinate with the consultants for effective implementation of Port project.
viii. Assist in Monitoring of Port Project.
ix. Any other task that may be assigned by the Port Administration.

Education Qualification:

i) A Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
ii) A Degree in Law (LLB) from the recognised university will be preferred.
iii) A member of Institute of Engineers / Fellow of Institute of Valuers.
iv) Conversant with provisions of Indian Contract Act, 1872.
v) Conversant with provisions of Law of Arbitration and Conciliation, 1996.
vi) Should have experience of dredging of Minimum 3 years.
vii) Minimum 25 years of experience in Port Sector/ related infrastructure.
viii) Worked in Senior Management and leadership position for at least 10 years in Port Sector.
ix) Proven record in the above field.

Age Limit:

Between 45 to 65 years.


A consolidated remuneration will be Rs.1,25,000/- per month and in case of retired Port/Government Officer, the remuneration will be restricted to difference of last pay drawn and amount of pension received.
