Three departments, CSE, EE & ME were initiated. The first year had its highs and lows but was an exciting period that will be etched in the minds of the pioneer batch. In January 2009, IIT Hyderabad admitted 11 PhD students. On February, 27, 2009, the foundation stone of IIT Hyderabad was laid by Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Hon'ble Chairperson of UPA. For the 2009-10 academic year, IITH will be admitting 120 B.Tech. students, 35 M.Tech. students and 10-15 Ph.D. students.

Job Details:

Title of the Research Project: Real time monitoring and control of cooling rates in laser based additive manufacturing for ensuring microstructural homogeneity, controlling dimensional accuracy, micro-cracks and delamination, and investigating their effects on the mechanical properties of fabricated components.

Name of the sponsoring agency: Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB) (A statutory body of the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India).

Emolument: INR 31,000 per month consolidated (No HRA).

Essential Qualification: M.E/M. Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering with 60% marks or Equivalent CGPA.

Desired Qualification: Preference shall be given to the candidate with prior knowledge and experience on laser based additive manufacturing or laser material processing. Prior Knowledge on CAD software.
