In January 2009, IIT Bombay admitted 11 PhD students. On February, 27, 2009, the foundation stone of IIT Bombay was laid by Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Hon'ble Chairperson of UPA. For the 2009-10 academic year, IITH will be admitting 120 B.Tech. students, 35 M.Tech. students and 10-15 Ph.D. students.

P(40-1) Development of Structural Finite Element Computational Package for Design of IPWR 
JRF: (2 Post) Eligibility :
  • B.Tech./B.E. have to be NET qualified with good structural engineering grades with strong background of structural mechanics, matrix methods, finite element method and numerical methods. 
  • Knowledge of various FE software is required. Familiarity with FORTRAN programming is essential.
    Salary : Consolidated salary Rs.25000/- p.m. + HRA
    Job Profile :
  • The JRFs will be required to work in a team on development of finite element package for analysis and design of various structural systems.
  • The JRFs will also work on development of GUI for facilitating analysis and design.
