Company Profile:

The journey of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), popularly known as Pusa Institute, began in 1905 at Pusa (Bihar) with the generous grant of 30,000 pounds from an American philanthropist, Mr. Henry Phipps. The institute was then known as Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) which functioned with five departments, namely Agriculture, Cattle Breeding, Chemistry, Economic Botany and Mycology. Bacteriology unit was added in 1907. The name of ARI was changed to Imperial Institute of Agricultural Research in 1911 and, in 1919 it was renamed as Imperial Agricultural Research Institute. Following a devastating earth quake on 15th January 1934, the institute was shifted to New Delhi on 29th July 1936. Post independence, the institute has been renamed as Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI).

Job Details:

Name of the Project: ICAR-NASF funded project "Population diversity of banana streak viruses (BSV) and understanding the mechanisms of resistance to BSV in diploid seedy banana of North East India".

Duration: Up to 31 st December 2020.

Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Plant Pathology/ Biotechnology/Microbiology with 4/5 years of bachelor degree or candidates having PG degree in basic sciences with 3 years Bachelor degree and 2 years of Masters Degree should have qualified NET exam and 2 years Of research experience as mentioned in the EdnJ6/27/2014/HRD dated 13th July, 2015, 0M No. Agril. Edn. 6/27/2014-HRD 9th October, 20150f the Council and 0M SWS9/Z-09/201 8 of DST dated 30ti January 2019.

Desirable: Experience in plant virology & molecular /serological techniques.

Emolument: SRF Rs.31000/- +24% HRA for ISt and 2nd year Rs. 35,000/- + 24% HRA for the third year.
